On my recent book-signing tour, at nearly every signing and at nearly every bookstore I met young authors who were seeking advice on how to write and publish novels.

In considering their needs, I reflected on my own past. As a teenager, I often was filled with tremendous desires to write, and I would sit down and begin working on a novel. But then football season or Christmas or work would distract me, so that I would set my novel aside until six months later I would begin to wonder, “What ever happened to my dream?”

Given this, I decided that one of the best things that I might do for a new writer is to remind them of their dream–once each day.

So I am going to commence writing a useful tip on writing every day. The tip may be only a paragraph or two, and probably will never be over two pages. Writers may ask me for help, if they are having a certain problem, and if they do, I will try to work that tip into a post shortly thereafter.

You don’t need to be a writer to sign up. You might be only mildly curious at this point in your life. You don’t have to write science fiction or fantasy to benefit from it. But if you’d like to join the list, or if you have friends who might be interested, you’re welcome.
